Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle, the first console hardware designed around Insomniac Games’ upcoming superhero game. The bundle, announced August 11 on the official PlayStation.Blog, combines a yellow PS5 Digital Edition, a matching DualSense wireless controller, and a digital copy of Marvel’s Wolverine, with pre-orders opening August 19.
The reveal follows the new details Insomniac and Marvel Games shared at San Diego Comic-Con last month, and it marks the first look at the hardware itself. The bundle is priced at $649.99 in the US, £569.99 in the UK, €649.99 in Europe, and ¥96,980 in Japan, and will be available globally in limited quantities.
The design takes its cues from Wolverine’s Battle Reborn suit and claws, with a bold yellow finish, exposed claw slashes across the hardware, and a see-through panel that lets players look inside the console. The artwork comes from Jock, the Scottish graphic artist behind the game’s key art. “I wanted to show Wolverine at his fiercest,” Jock said in the announcement, describing the challenge of bringing hand-drawn ink work to the hardware. Insomniac senior creative director Marcus Smith called Jock’s illustrations “grounded and raw,” adding that they “perfectly personify Wolverine.”
The DualSense Wireless Controller, Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition is also available for standalone purchase at $84.99 US / £74.99 GBP / €84.99 EUR / ¥12,480 JPY. Sony said the controller’s design mirrors the claw slashes featured on the console itself.
Pricing and pre-order details
For players who already own a PS5 or PS5 Pro, Sony announced two console cover sets. The PS5 Console Covers, Battle Yellow Limited Edition fit the PS5 slim and PS5 Pro, with or without disc drives, at $74.99 US / £64.99 GBP / €74.99 EUR / ¥9,980 JPY. A second set, the PS5 Pro Console Covers, Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition, uses a metallic finish inspired by the adamantium bonded to Logan’s skeleton, at the same price. A matching Adamantium DualSense controller costs $84.99 US / £74.99 GBP / €84.99 EUR.
Pre-orders open August 19 at 10 AM local time, or 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET in the US, while supplies last. Direct purchases are available where the direct.playstation.com store operates, covering the US, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Austria, with limited quantities at select retailers elsewhere. Orders placed through PlayStation include free launch-day delivery for eligible pre-orders. Sony says all bundle and accessory items will be available beginning September 15. The reveal follows a quarter in which Sony reported flat Q1 sales and confirmed the end of physical disc production for its consoles, as the company keeps pushing hardware sales through its own channels.
Marvel’s Wolverine itself launches beginning September 15, 2026 on PS5, with Insomniac describing it as an all-new, original action experience.
