What the refreshed bundle includes
Nintendo has refreshed its Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle at a higher price and added a companion Switch Sports Resort pack, the company said in an official announcement on August 25. The move lands just days before the console’s own price increase takes effect, and it reshapes how newcomers can buy into the system.
The official Nintendo announcement confirms the Mario Kart World bundle will cost $549.99 and arrive in late September. Each pack now ships with a 90-day (3-month) Nintendo Switch Online individual membership, something the original launch bundle did not include.
The bundle pairs a Switch 2 system with a download code for Mario Kart World and the membership. At $549.99 it is $50 more than the launch-window bundle that sold for $499.99. Nintendo says the new pack saves buyers $37.98 compared with purchasing the console, game, and membership separately at the prices that take effect after September 1.

Right now, buying the console, the game, and a year of Switch Online separately is actually a few dollars cheaper than the new bundle. The console itself is getting more expensive. Nintendo confirmed the standard Switch 2 system’s suggested retail price rises to $499.99 on September 1, a $50 increase. The refreshed Mario Kart World bundle effectively folds that higher MSRP into a single SKU while adding three months of online play.
A second pack pairs the console with Switch Sports Resort
Nintendo also announced a Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle at $529.99, arriving October 22, the same day the game launches. It carries the same 90-day membership, and Nintendo pegs the savings at $27.98 versus a separate purchase. Switch Sports Resort brings 12 motion-control sports to the system, from Boxing and Archery to the new Thumb Wrestling and Prop Plane activities, set on the familiar Wuhu Island.
For players weighing the two options, the trade-off is clear.
