Star Wars Zero Company is out now. Electronic Arts confirmed the launch on August 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-orders live across all three platforms (EA newsroom, June 5, 2026). The single-player turn-based tactics game closes out a busy late-August release window that already included Once Human’s console debut on August 25.

Bit Reactor built the game with Lucasfilm Games, and Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor, supported the project. Bit Reactor is an independent team formed by veterans of the XCOM and Civilization franchises, and the studio frames Zero Company as a tactics game that pairs deep systems with cinematic presentation. The partnership is a notable turn for the genre on consoles, a shift we explored when we looked at how PlayStation PC strategy changed the industry.

A tactics-first take on the Clone Wars

Players step into the role of Hawks, a former Galactic Republic officer who now leads Zero Company, an unconventional outfit of hired specialists. The squad pulls from across the galaxy: a Clone Trooper, a Mandalorian of the ancient Clan Verminoth, and a Jedi Padawan among them. Their mission is to hunt down Kundri Fathom, leader of the Separatist-aligned cult known as the Infinite Coil, before his plans consume the galaxy.

The game keeps its focus on squad command rather than action. Missions span tactical operations, investigations, and other assignments built around an original story set in the shadows of the Clone Wars. Bit Reactor says player decisions reshape outcomes, so each run can play out differently as you adapt at your base of operations and on a shifting battlefield.

“Our team has poured everything we love about Star Wars into Zero Company,” said Greg Foertsch, CEO and creative director at Bit Reactor. “The bold characters, powerful storytelling, striking settings and the sense of heart beneath the battles in Star Wars has helped us create an experience that pushes the tactics genre forward by combining deep gameplay with cinematic elegance.”

Pricing lines up with earlier store listings. The Steam page lists Star Wars Zero Company at $49.99 on PC and $59.99 on consoles, with a Deluxe Edition at $59.99 on PC and $69.99 on consoles that adds Clone Wars-era cosmetic packs. The title is a single-player experience with no Nintendo Switch 2 version announced at launch.

Zero Company marks EA’s first new turn-based Star Wars game under the publisher’s post-2020 multi-studio model, where Lucasfilm Games licenses the universe to several developers rather than a single exclusive partner. For players who want a methodical, story-led Star Wars campaign, the August 27 release gives them a tactics option that sits apart from the Jedi action-adventure lineage Respawn established.
