Arrowhead Game Studios has announced a new anti-cheat system for Helldivers 2, deploying improved monitoring methods aimed at players who exploit the games Super Credit economy. The changes, detailed in an official announcement on Steam, target cheaters using automation and duplication exploits to hoard the premium currency at rates no human player could legitimately reach.

The developer said the move was a direct response to player feedback. Cheating has been a top topic in community discussions since the games launch in early 2024, and Arrowhead said it is now united in dealing a hefty blow to their undemocratic ways.

For legitimate players, the update should be invisible. The studio confirmed that players grinding maps, clearing points of interest, and looting bunkers will never experience any change. The monitoring thresholds are set substantially higher than the highest legitimate earners on record, meaning normal play sessions even marathon weekends with a squad fall well below the detection line.

The primary targets are cheaters using automation tools, bots, and duplication exploits that generate Super Credits at rates far exceeding human capability. Arrowhead said it has radically improved its ability to stop these actors at the point of exploit, before they can damage the in-game economy.

The changes extend beyond Super Credits to cover all reward currencies, including Medals, Samples, and Requisition Slips. The studio said this comprehensive approach keeps earned rewards meaningful and levels the playing field across every player population.

Arrowhead included a player support channel for anyone concerned about their account status, directing players to submit requests through the Arrowhead Player Support portal on Zendesk.

Helldivers 2 launched in February 2024 and has maintained a large player base through regular Warbond releases and content updates. The games premium currency system has been a recurring point of discussion in the community, particularly after high-profile Warbond releases that required significant grinding or premium purchases to unlock fully.

Arrowhead has a history of responding to community feedback with mechanical adjustments and policy changes. Earlier this year, the studio introduced the Warbond Token system to prevent players from accidentally double-purchasing the Steeled Veterans Warbond alongside the Super Citizen Edition upgrade.

The new anti-cheat measures are now live across all platforms. Arrowhead said it will continue monitoring the situation and communicating openly as it works to improve the game.
