ENDLESS Legend 2 will leave Early Access on September 17, 2026, Amplitude Studios announced in an official announcement that also confirms the 4X strategy sequel’s first console release. The 1.0 launch arrives on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store alongside PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions, marking the Endless franchise’s debut on consoles. Physical editions for PS5, created in collaboration with Strictly Limited, are available to pre-order now through participating retailers.
The 1.0 update adds a sixth major faction, the Sandshapers, described as the oldest civilization on the flooded world of Saiadha. The faction’s goal is to terraform the planet back into the desert it once was, and it brings a new faction quest, units, heroes, technologies, and traits, all available in the Custom Faction creator. Two Rogue Factions also enter the game: the Order of Zelevas, a conquest-focused variant of the Kin of Sheredyn, and the Severed Claw, a take on the Necrophage that replaces its losses by enslaving other factions. A new minor faction, the starfish-like Mangrove of Harmony, was developed alongside the Amplitude community and comes with its own hero, questline, villages, recruitable units, and two hero skills.
Rogue Factions are a new layer of faction design in ENDLESS Legend 2, letting splinter groups share the tools of an existing faction while telling their own story with a distinct quest and gameplay twist. The 1.0 roster is the biggest the game has had since its Early Access launch on August 7, 2025, and the console versions arrive with the full 1.0 package rather than a scaled-down port. The strategy game, published by Hooded Horse, has spent its Early Access year refining its take on the Endless Legend formula, in which players establish a sprawling network of cities while the world’s oceans recede and reshape the map. In the face of receding oceans and cataclysmic events, players raise armies led by heroes with unique attributes and skills, and uncover secrets at the heart of the world. The franchise’s trademark blend of empire building, hero-led armies, and a changing overworld carries into the sequel, with the Tidefalls acting as the recurring event that redraws the playable space.
Players still deciding whether to commit can try the demo, which remains available on Steam. It offers two factions to sample: the defensive Kin of Sheredyn and the cursed knights of the Last Lords, with roughly 90 turns of play to experience the Tidefalls that shape Saiadha. The demo also previews the roster of five factions players can face before the full release expands it with the Sandshapers and the rogue variants.
The September 17 launch gives Amplitude a clear runway into the holiday season for its most ambitious strategy release to date, and the simultaneous console launch opens the Endless series to an audience that has only been able to watch from a distance. With the new factions and the community-built Mangrove of Harmony already locked in, the 1.0 update looks set to be the definitive version of ENDLESS Legend 2.
