Overwatch Season 4 launches on August 11, and it introduces D.Mon, the game’s 53rd hero and a new tank from the MEKA Squad. Blizzard released the official D.Mon gameplay trailer this week, giving players their first extended look at the mech pilot before she joins the live game at the season’s start.
Blizzard offered a first glimpse of the character on August 3, then premiered the full hero trailer on August 6. D.Mon, real name Yuna Lee, pilots the mech known as Beast and is voiced by streamer and voice actor LilyPichu, as Blizzard Watch reports. She is positioned as a melee-oriented tank that plays differently from her MEKA teammate D.Va, despite sharing that squad and a similar esports-to-mech-pilot background.
Who is D.Mon?
D.Mon is Overwatch’s 53rd hero, its 15th tank, and the eighth new hero added in 2026. She follows Shion, who joined in Season 3 earlier this summer, along with Sierra, Domina, Anran, Emre, Jetpack Cat, and Mizuki. She is also the first tank added to the game since Domina arrived earlier in the year, giving the tank role its second new face in 2026. The wave of releases is part of the 10-hero-per-year plan Blizzard set out for Overwatch’s 10th anniversary, and D.Mon was teased among the silhouettes in the artwork Blizzard released in February when it renamed the game back to Overwatch.
In the lore, D.Mon is the MEKA Squadron leader and D.Va’s best frenemy, a character who has been part of the world since her room in Busan appeared back in 2018. She has been referenced in cinematics, cosmetics, and comics in the years since, and former Overwatch narrative lead Michael Chu has described her as tough and protective. Her mech, Beast, is central to her kit: according to Engadget’s look at the reveal, when Beast is destroyed D.Mon ejects and survives, then can re-mech to get back into the fight. The trailer shows her in action against Wrecking Ball, with reporting pointing to an Armored Core-inspired melee style. Blizzard also published a short story on Overwatch’s official channel to expand her backstory, with LilyPichu reading it.
Season 4 changes
Season 4 goes live alongside D.Mon on August 11. Blizzard previewed reworks to three classic maps during the OWCS Midseason Championship Grand Final on August 2, with Paraiso and Eichenwalde among the battlegrounds receiving substantial updates. The season gives players a fresh pool of map changes and a new tank to learn at the same time, and the full update rolls out across every platform on launch day.
Overwatch is available on Windows PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, and D.Mon arrives on all platforms when Season 4 begins. Her debut continues a busy summer for the hero shooter, which has already added seven other heroes across the first three seasons of the year. With two heroes still to come in the 2026 roadmap after her, the MEKA Squad leader is the latest step in a year of rapid-fire additions that has remade the roster and the maps alongside it.
