Xbox has opened the next phase of its 25th anniversary celebration with a new profile badge, community-made console designs, curated Game Pass collections, and a seven-city FanFest schedule. Microsoft detailed the additions in an official Xbox Wire announcement published on August 3.
The profile badge is the most immediate change. Anyone who signs in to an Xbox account on console, PC, or the Xbox mobile app can receive the 25th Anniversary badge before the brand’s November 15 anniversary. Microsoft says it will remain available through the end of 2026 and can be displayed on a player’s profile.
Xbox has also released a set of free visual designs created with community artists Klobrille and Ben Kenobi. The collection includes gamerpics, console backgrounds, a dynamic theme, and a PC app theme. Console users can find the gamerpic and theme under profile customization, while the dynamic background sits under Settings, General, Personalization, and My background.
On the Xbox app for PC, the new gamerpic is available through View Profile, and the theme appears inside the profile customization menu. The company is inviting players to share their own anniversary designs with the Xbox25 hashtag, extending the celebration beyond Microsoft’s official artwork.
Game Pass is getting anniversary collections that group titles from different Xbox generations. Microsoft named Fable Anniversary, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Fallout 4, and Psychonauts 2 among the included games. Availability still depends on whether each title is offered for console, PC, or both, so the collection acts as a curated route through the catalog rather than a separate bundle.
Where the Xbox FanFest tour is heading
The FanFest tour began in Los Angeles around the Xbox Games Showcase and will continue through the rest of the year. The confirmed stops are Cologne on August 26 during gamescom, Tokyo on September 17 during Tokyo Game Show, London on September 26, Mexico City and Sydney on October 17, and Toronto on November 6. A Seattle stop is also planned, but Microsoft has not announced its date.
Tickets for each stop will be awarded through city-specific sweepstakes rather than a general sale. Players can enter and track updates through the official Xbox FanFest page. Microsoft describes the tour as a series of local, fan-focused events, though the announcement does not promise the same program or game lineup in every city.
The anniversary campaign reaches back to the original Xbox launch on November 15, 2001. The new badge and visual themes give current users a persistent marker of that history, while the Game Pass collections connect the celebration to playable releases from the original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series generations.
Microsoft says more anniversary updates, products, and experiences will be added through its 25th Anniversary hub. For now, the badge is available as soon as an account signs in, the community designs can be selected from the relevant profile and personalization menus, and FanFest entrants have a published calendar for six dated stops.
