Xbox announced the second wave of August Game Pass additions on August 18, headlined by Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which reaches the service on August 27 as a day-one release after its showing at the Xbox Games Showcase this summer. The Xbox Wire announcement lists eight new arrivals across the next two weeks, plus a separate round of departures at the end of the month.

The batch follows the first August wave, which opened with the Gears of War: E-Day multiplayer beta on August 6. This second wave spreads across console, PC, cloud and handheld, and most titles land on day one for Ultimate and PC Game Pass members.

What joins Game Pass in the second August wave

Egging On, a puzzle platformer about a fragile egg escaping a henhouse, is available today (August 18) for Game Pass Premium and joins Ultimate and PC Game Pass on cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC. Three more arrive on August 19: Vapor World: Over the Mind, a narrative souls-like platformer focused on deflection combat that debuts in Game Preview on day one; BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, the roguelite action game set in the BlazBlue universe with 2D visuals and stylish combat, which also picks up a free content update adding the fighter Platinum; and Relooted, an Africanfuturist heist game about reclaiming African artifacts from Western museums, where players recruit a crew, plan escape routes and secure the cargo.

Starsand Island arrives August 20, a slow-paced pastoral island sim built around fishing, animal companions and the Moonlit Forest. August 25 brings Aerial_Knight’s DropShot, a high-speed stylized FPS racer starring Smoke Wallace, a kid bitten by a radioactive dragon, plus Blood Dungeon, a 2D survival platformer from the creators of Nidhogg in which players parkour through dungeons, kite monsters and spend earned bones at the Bone Shop; it can be played in co-op at day one. Young Suns, a narrative life sim set on Jupiter after a successful revolution, reaches its 1.0 release on August 31. Shelldiver, an incremental game about a turtle running a jellyfish shop, follows on September 1. Xbox notes that the Handheld designation marks titles optimized for handheld play.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy closes out the wave

The centerpiece is Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, positioned as the day-one title shown at the Xbox Games Showcase. It follows Sophia on her journey to Minotaur’s Island, where she faces deadly trials, solves puzzles and stays one step ahead of an army chasing her, while a terrifying creature hidden behind the island’s myth draws closer. The game arrives August 27 on cloud, console, handheld and PC for Ultimate and PC Game Pass members.

Xbox also flagged Wolfenstein 3D as newly available on Xbox Series X|S and Cloud Gaming, and Once Human players on Game Pass can claim a console-exclusive avatar and a monthly Meta Pass from August 25. On the way out, Crab’s Treasure, I Am Your Beast, Neon Abyss, One Lonely Outpost and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Remastered Edition leave the library on August 31, with NBA 2K26 following on September 6. The next confirmed arrival is Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy on August 27.
