Mega Crit has released Slay the Spire 2 Major Update 2, version 0.107.1, on the main branch. The update bundles four beta patches into the public build and adds several changes that affect both long-running players and anyone returning after the first major update. The official patch notes are available on Steam.

The RNG Rework Is the Headline
The most important change is a rework of inconsistent random number behavior. Mega Crit says some run outcomes were more correlated than intended, including cases where unrelated parts of a run could help predict other results. The studio credited community research for helping identify the issue and says the latest beta fixes address many instances of inconsistent RNG behavior.
For players, the practical goal is simple: choices such as event outcomes, rewards, and run structure should feel less tied to hidden patterns outside the decision in front of them. In a deckbuilder built around risk management, that kind of correction matters.
Balance Changes Touch Every Character
Major Update 2 includes another large balance pass across Ironclad, Silent, Regent, Necrobinder, Defect, multiplayer, relics, enemies, and events. Ironclad gets reworks for Conflagration and Drum of Battle, Silent sees Follow Through reworked into Scare, Regent has several Sovereign Blade and Star-related adjustments, Necrobinder receives both buffs and nerfs, and Defect gets changes to Fusion, Shatter, Tesla Coil, and several damage cards.
Aeonglass, Bestiary, and Modding Support
The main branch now folds in beta work around Aeonglass, the Bestiary, leaderboards, controller navigation, and multiplayer stability. Modding also gets attention: the base game should no longer delete progress from removed or errored mods, Steam mod handling has been fixed in some cases, and Mega Crit has started publishing XML documentation for STS2.dll.
A Big Stability Patch Too
The patch notes list a long set of crash, softlock, save, Steam Cloud, Linux, controller, localization, multiplayer, enemy, relic, event, and card fixes. There are also new art additions, card portraits, character animations, enemy animations, phobia mode art, background music, sound effects, and writing updates across multiple languages.
What Players Should Watch
This is the kind of early access update that can change how familiar routes and cards feel overnight. Players who stayed on the main branch are getting several beta cycles at once, while beta players should pay attention to the final RNG and modding fixes that arrived with version 0.107.1. The next question is how quickly Mega Crit follows with hotfixes if the broader player base finds new balance problems.
The RNG Workshop update adds significant replayability to Slay the Spire 2. Players can now customize their runs with specific modifiers, seed their preferred card combinations, and share custom challenges with the community. These features extend the games lifespan well beyond the base campaign.
The update also includes new relics, potions, and events that expand the strategic depth of each run. The workshop integration allows the community to create and share custom content, which has historically extended the longevity of similar deck-building games. Mega Crit continues to support the game with regular balance patches.
