What Is the Steam Machine?
The new Steam Machine is a small form factor PC roughly 6 inches (160mm) cube, designed to sit under your TV or on your desk. It runs SteamOS 3 and is built around a semi-custom AMD processor with discrete-class graphics. Valve claims the system delivers over six times the horsepower of the Steam Deck, targeting 4K 60fps gaming with FSR upscaling.

Valve offers two configurations: a 512GB model at $1,039 (or $1,108 with a Steam Controller) and a 2TB model at $1,359 (or $1,428 with a Steam Controller). Both include 16GB of DDR5 RAM plus 8GB of dedicated GDDR6 VRAM. Storage is expandable via microSD card slot.
Hardware Specifications
The Steam Machine features a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads, paired with an AMD RDNA3 GPU with 28 Compute Units. It includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, Gigabit Ethernet, one USB-C port, four USB-A ports, DisplayPort 1.4, and HDMI 2.0. The power supply is built into the unit.
How Reservations Work
Reservations are open now through June 25 at 10 AM PT. After that date, the reservation list is closed and randomized. Selected customers receive an email with purchase instructions. This is similar to the reservation system Valve used for the Steam Deck launch.

Valve is also selling a new Steam Controller alongside the Steam Machine. It pairs directly with the console via a built-in wireless adapter. The controller can also be purchased separately.
