PlayStation will stage two State of Play broadcasts back-to-back on September 3, with the first show promising updates from PlayStation Studios and its third-party partners. The announcement on the official PlayStation Blog also confirms an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation before the second programme begins.
The double bill starts at 6:00 a.m. PT, 9:00 a.m. ET, 3:00 p.m. CEST, and 10:00 p.m. JST. Both shows will stream on YouTube and Twitch, according to Sony Interactive Entertainment. The standard State of Play will be presented in English with Japanese subtitles, while State of Play Japan will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles.
What Sony has confirmed
The first broadcast is the broader of the two. PlayStation says it will carry updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios as well as outside partners, then close with a longer presentation focused on the world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The wording leaves the rest of the running order open, so there is no official game-by-game list to treat as confirmed yet.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the only specific game named in the announcement. PlayStation describes the segment as an extended look rather than a short trailer, which makes it the clearest anchor for the English-language show. The official game page is already linked from Sony’s notice, but the post does not give a release date or detail which part of the game the presentation will cover.
The follow-up State of Play Japan has a different brief. Sony says it will offer deeper looks at upcoming games from studios in Japan and Asia, alongside new gameplay, announcements, and other updates. Yuki Kaji will return as host. No complete lineup has been published, so expectations about unannounced appearances should stay separate from the details Sony has actually supplied.
A busy week for PlayStation news
The timing gives the broadcasts a useful place in a month that has already brought several PlayStation updates. Sony recently published a detailed Marvel’s Wolverine features trailer breakdown for the September 15 launch, including Logan’s Rage system, suits, and challenge modes. The new shows could add more information about that game, but PlayStation has not said that it will appear.
